Our GPS couldn't read the address to the Oklahoma Country Auto and Mini Museum. I had printed out the direction on google map and we drove past it. It was only about 2 miles from the Old Round Barn, but we drove twice the distance. On turning back, we came across an old ruined Route 66 gas station, that I learnt later as the Conoco station.
We met the owner, Mr. John Hargrove, of the Oklahoma County Auto and Mini Museum. He was a very nice and friendly man. I was impressed by his creativity and display of the vintage collections, related to Route 66, both inside and outside his visitors' building. I enjoyed the collections. He is not charging any fees for visiting and I wonder how he would be able to maintain the place and the collections. I forgot to ask him when he started his museum. Thank you, Mr. Hargrove for sharing with us your collections.
It was a whole new world to me initially There are 4 seasons. Drive on the right side and not the left side of the road. Unless it is multiway switching, push up the wall switch to turn the light on. What else...................... People are the same when it comes to family values, etc. etc. ..... Come, share with me...... as time goes. Oklahoma - 99s Museum of Women Pilots
Saturday, 30 June 2018
This is a special museum, featuring only women pilots :-)
Mike & I were amused with a remark, made by a 11 (if I read correctly) year old son of a woman jet pilot. He was asked if he would also fly a jet when he is older. He answered that it is a woman's job!
I am proud of all the 1st woman pilot in their country.

Indiahoma - Wichita Wildlife Mountain Refuge
For us to get on today's bus tour, we had to book our attendance on a particular day, the 4 June 2018. I am glad that Mike was able to get us booked. I noticed on the list, he was the 2nd person. The tour was about 3 hours and started at 6:30 am. We had to be there by 6:15 am. We were able to get to the Mountain Refuge, but drove far beyond the Visitors' Center, where the tour bus was. I am glad we set off from our hotel early and despite the extra time and distance driving away from the assembly place, we were able to get there at 6:14 am! If we had missed this tour, I would be so disappointed.
