This was the 2nd Saturday of the month and it was free admission (funding of Oklahoma Arts Council)! Mike & I are not that crazy interested in arts and paintings, so we didn't want to spend $13 just to visit the Philbrook museum (2727 South Rockford Road, Tulsa, OK 74114) on other days. I was attracted by the pictures of the gardens and I wanted to see them. Mike care neither for the art nor the gardens but he took me there to make me happy. Thank you, Mike, I appreciate that.
My own shot of the museum from the garden. For a professional shot click on this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philbrook_Museum_of_Art
Taken from the museum, looking down to the gardens
If this was my garden, I would love to sit on a mat below the shady tree, read or sleep. It was a sunny day and there was a breeze from time to time.
National flower of Malaysia! Size-wise, this was bigger.
I think these are Zinnias.
Interesting artwork. No signboard. Someone said that it was a hippopotumus
Can't make out what the sculptured animals were.
The signboard read "Thinker on a Rock"
Don't understand art to understand why it was called "Talisman".
The beautiful koi!
On the whole, I enjoyed this visit, especially the gardens. I had my exercise walking in the 23 acres of gardens. There were paintings in the museum that looked to me like the work of children playing with their brushes, but there were also paintings that I considered as real paintings like the Shepherdess.

looks like a really nice place.. but yeah, that ticket price is a bit steep. :)
If we pay, it would have been $7.50 for me and $5.50 for Mike, so that totals to $13. Prices are about that for visiting museums here. I guess for artists, it is worth it.
nice to view once.. but won't go for it another time around... :P
