Glad that Roger, Robin, Joshua, Michelle, Elder Fox and Elder Lee were able to join us to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Gave us the energy and interest to prepare the Christmas dinner. On our own, we would probably have a simple meal.
As usual, my chef working..........
the vegetable plate.......... (I prefer my spring onions cooked)
the baked turkey (we had turkey for thanksgiving and now we have turkey again - anyway I like turkey - it is more healthier), the dressing, the gravy, the jellied cranberry sauce..........
Baked cream corn with bacon..........
Baked yam (sweet potatoes) with marshmallows..........
Pumpkin pie - I like Mike's version because it is not as sweet as the ones that I have tasted from the stores.
Elder Fox and Elder Lee played the dominoes
Good time together. Enjoyed the company. Enjoyed the food. Hope you have a good time yourself!
It was a whole new world to me initially There are 4 seasons. Drive on the right side and not the left side of the road. Unless it is multiway switching, push up the wall switch to turn the light on. What else...................... People are the same when it comes to family values, etc. etc. ..... Come, share with me...... as time goes. Birds: Cliff Swallows
Fruits: Peaches
Sunday, 25 July 2010
Don't you like fruit trees? Let me think. I don't think I have come across any fruit (for human consumption) trees that I don't like yet.
This is the 1st time I have seen a peach tree.
I thought they have to be eaten ripe until I saw someone cutting the unripe ones and eating them with salt. Reminded me of buah kedondong (great hog plum). I tried without salt. It is nice and crunchy. I like it. These peaches are from the tree above. They are not as big as the ones sold in the supermarket but that is okay.

64th Annual Dogie Days Parade, Dumas
Saturday, 12 June 2010
Good thing, it was sunny during the parade because the evening and night saw severe thunderstorms! It was the 64th Annual Dogie Days Parade, organised by the Dumas Noon Lions Club and and the Dumas/Moore County Chamber of Commerce.
Army
Navy
Roger marched with the American Legion Color Guard
A veteran of Former War
Dumas Fire Department
Sunray Fire Department
Stacey driving the A Plus Pest Control Truck
and Robin driving the Pigeons Van
Class of '65!
The Red Hats!
A mule among the horses. A mule is an offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. I read that mules are generally more intelligent than horses.
Masked Rider - mascot of Texas Technical University
An old Ford tractor
John Deere tractors
A Farmall tractor
Doritos - tortilla chips!
The children got to collect sweets and whatever is thrown to them!
One parade participant threw coins. One was meant for me because I found it after people have left and we were walking back to our car.
I missed this event last year. It was not 'dogs' event as I have thought. I thought it was 'doggie' day! I thought people would bring their dogs to the park for some event. And being a dog lover, I looked forward to this day. Anyway, I learnt today it was hot'dogs' day. You find/buy them at the fair, at the park.
Hot'dogs' stall was not opened when we went to the fair this afternoon. Instead we got hamburgers, corn on the cob and ice cone.
